I work confidentially with a variety of clients and organisations; clients that are wanting support to manage their current circumstances and to create change.

To date,  national and international clients; those from the fields of nursing, radiology, pathology, health management, defence, child care centre’s, law, prisons, protective services, building industry, parents who have separated and are wanting to reach an agreement with the other parent and those in the private and public education sector. With the assistance of Zoom/telephone/face to face, clients geographical location is not a deterrent to accessing a professional service.

Since 1997, Rhonda has been practicing from her office in Englehart Street Albury providing mediation, coaching and counselling to national and international organisations and individual clients.   Fatigued with their current situation of disputes, disagreements or difficult relationships, each have sought assistance to create change with the interventions of either mediation, coaching or counselling.

Dr Emonson has a Bachelor in Health Science, Masters in Conflict Resolution from La Trobe University, Masters in Social Work (Charles Sturt University) , post graduate qualifications in Family Therapy and Coaching. More recently she was the first Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner in Australia to be awarded a PhD for her  research in preparing parents (in regional Australia) for Family Dispute Resolution.

Rhonda is well experienced,qualified and registered with all appropriate regulatory bodies in the fields of Mediation, (workplace and family dispute resolution), Coaching, (Resilience and Conflict Coaching) and is accredited with Medicare as a Mental Health Practitioner to provide Focused Psychological Strategies on referral from a Medical Practitioner.

Three months working with traumatised children in a developing country has given a CSU social work graduate a new perspective on life. Ms Rhonda Emonson from Albury, will be among the first four graduates of the Masters of Social Work. As part of her postgraduate studies at CSU, Ms Emonson worked with orphans on the island of Negros Occidental, the Philippines. ‘We’ve all heard about communities that survive without sewage, electricity, shelter and on a cup of rice a day‘ she said. ‘To live in these circumstances is heartbreaking yet inspirational’. ‘It’s created a yearning to work with those who have so few resources and struggle to survive from day to day as a result of poverty and lack of infrastructure,’ she said.

‘A family mediation information session was conducted by Rhonda Emonson from the Family Mediation Service addressing the new changes to family law, the importance of mediation and the role of mediation in Family Law cases.This was a free information session held in the Robert Brown Room at the Albury City Council’.

‘Rhonda Emonson a PhD student in the Conflict Management and Resolution Program presented at the North Queensland Family Law Pathways Network Breakfast. Rhonda is an experienced Family Therapist/FDRP/Workplace Mediator/Coach and works predominately with complex, conflict entrenched parents as they participate in FDR or with employees involved in workplace dispute. Keen to focus on the area of conflict at a specialist level, Rhonda commenced a PhD at James Cook University’.

Working with Dr Emonson

Sessions are held in professional offices with either business hours or after hour appointments offered. For national and international clients, sessions for mediation or coaching or counselling are offered via Zoom, Skype or telephone. A referral is not necessary, however those wanting a rebate from Medicare for focused psychological services will need a referral from their Medical Practitioner.

Until at least September 30, 2020-all sessions will be held via Zoom/Skype or telephone due to COVID-19 pandemic regardless of the location of the client.
